Captain Cortez

Alessio Cortez was a Captain of the Crimson Fists Fourth Company known for his pride, stubbornness, and being impossible to kill. It is said that only two bones in his entire body hadn't been broken one or more times. Cortez went missing in action after a battle with Eldar Raiders, and nothing is known of his whereabouts as of late M41. His old friend and brother Marine, Pedro Kantor, remains convinced that Cortez is still alive.[1]

Notable battles

  • 853.M41: The Battle of Steel Cross: Cortez slew an Ork warboss and his entire retinue, famously disarming the Warboss by getting the Ork's sword stuck in his ribcage.
  • 867.M41: Attacked Eldar positions despite heavy fire, suffering seventeen wounds.
  • 892.M41: Defended a breach in the Fortress of Maladon for twenty-one hours of constant fighting.
  • 903.M41: Fought the six-week campaign Kardian without supplies (breaking the old record).
