Armageddon Ork Numbers
Warband sizes are estimated to be between 300 to 3,000 Orks each, with associated war machines and artillery typically equal to 20-25% of total strength. Speed Kult and "artillery" warbands are estimated to have war machines and artillery equal to 50-100% of total strength.[1] This means simply that there were millions of Orks present on Armageddon.
In Armageddon Prime there were 311 warbands in total (between 186,600 and 933,000 Orks, including Speed Kults and Artillery Orks). Also, there were 38 Gargants and 16 Battle Fortresses. There were between 4,200 and 21,000 artillery warband Orks and between 12,600 and 63,000 Speed Kultists.[Needs Citation]
In Armageddon Secundus there were 555 warbands in total (between 333,000 and 1,665,000 Orks, including Speed Kults and Artillery Orks). Also, there were 52 Gargants and 32 Battle Fortresses. There were between 10,800 and 54,000 artillery warband Orks and between 25,800 and 129,000 Speed Kultists.[Needs Citation]
In the Fire Wastes there were 116 warbands in total (between 69,600 and 348,000 Orks, including Speed Kults and Artillery Orks). Also, there were 20 Gargants. There were between 6,600 and 33,000 artillery Orks and between 7,200 and 36,000 Speed Kultists.[Needs Citation]
In the Dead Lands there were 321 warbands in total (between 192,600 and 963,000 Orks, including Speed Kults and Artillery Orks). Also, there were 227 Battle Fortresses. There were between 30,600 and 153,000 Speed Kultists.[Needs Citation]
In total, across the entirety of Armageddon, Ghazghkull landed between 781,800 and 3,909,000 Orks, 110 Gargants and 275 Battle Fortresses, and between 21,600 and 108,000 Artillery Orks and between 76,200 and 324,300 Speed Kultists. Nor do these figures include the numerous Feral Ork tribes that also participated in the war. This would have easily brought the total Ork count in excess of 4,000,000.[Needs Citation]
