The
Eye of Terror and its outskirts
The Astartes Praeses were twenty Space Marine Chapters whose main task is to guard the frontiers of the Eye of Terror. By the time of the 13th Black Crusade Astartes Praeses numbered eighteen, one of the has been destroyed and another declared excommunicatus traitorus.[1]
According to the Mythos Angelica Mortis were those chapters founded with the expressed purpose of guarding the regions surrounding the Eye of Terror.[2]
The loss of Cadia and the destruction of the Cadian Gate leaves the future of the Astartes Praeses order uncertain.[Needs Citation]
