The Black Guard are a Space Marine Chapter created during the Second Founding. They descend from the Raven Guard.

Background
During the Horus Heresy, Corvus Corax reorganized the badly depleted Shadow Wardens into the Black Guard. Gherith Arendi was made their commander.[7]
