Blood Tithe
The Blood Tithe was a battle between the Word Bearers and Tau Empire.[1]
Overview
The battle began when Tau diplomats managed to establish an uneasy peace upon the planet of Ur-Clemait, a world that had long been ravaged by civil war. Although most of the population seemed content with the Tau’s enforced ceasefire, the elders and priests of the old faith were distraught, insisting that the ‘blood tithe’ must continue to be met. The puzzled Tau continued their assimilation, but before the year was out, the Word Bearers arrived to enforce the tithe. They attacked Ur-Clemait in force, cutting down xenos and human alike. The Tau Fire Caste met the invasion head-on, and the world was plunged into an ongoing war far worse than the previous.[1]
