Brostin was a Trooper of the Tanith First and Only[1][2a] who served as a Special Weapons Trooper armed with a flamer[2a][2c][5] in the regiment's Third Platoon.[3a]

Biography

Brostin was one of the original Tanith members of the regiment.[1][5] Depending on who you asked in the regiment, he gained his experience with fire either by serving as a firewatcher in Tanith Magna or as a convicted arsonist with a ten-year sentence.[5]

He was part of a detachment of Tanith whose troop-ship was brought down by a psychic storm on Caligula and crash-landed in K7-75. Despite being attacked by Chaos Cultists, the survivors of the crash managed to make it off world and reunite with the Crusade's forces.[2a]

Once the daemon generating the storm had been destroyed[2a] and the Imperials were in the process of rooting out cultist cells and rebuilding Caligula, Brostin was part of a detachment assigned to escort a supply convoy from Aurelian Hive to Hive Calphernia. Brostin was stationed alongside Abat manning the weapons of a half-track driven by Wheln.[2b]

Brostin later took part in the Siege of Vervunhive as part of a unit under Sergeant Varl and Corporal Meryn assigned to defend the Hass East Fort.[3b] Brostin survived the Siege, but was amongst those Tanith in the regiment who were scornful of the prospect of new recruits from Vervunhive joining the Tanith First via Warmaster Macaroth's Act of Consolation, believing that they were crazy and could not be true members of the regiment.[4]
