Chaos Portal Chaos Space Marines

A Chaos Lieutenant is a rank among the Chaos Space Marines, second to Chaos Lord. They can be given psychic powers and can eventually become Chaos Sorcerers. They are often seen as the right-hand men to Chaos Lords, though they will often try to benefit from any unfortunate events which could lead to their own increase in power.^[1]

Canon Conflicts

• Chaos Lieutenants do not appear among Chaos Space Marine forces after the 3rd Edition, and their role seems to have been replaced by other units. For instance, in 4th Edition, Chaos Sorcerers are corrupted Space Marine Librarians, rather than Lieutenants who have been gifted with psychic abilities.^[2]
