Crusaders are warriors of the Ecclesiarchy that are often used in the Retinue of an Inquisitor. Recruited directly from the Cardinal's Crimson Honor Guard, it is said that nowhere can more religiously devout warriors be found, save perhaps the Sisters of Battle. Most are inducted from the Schola Progenium.
The Crusaders are not officially appointed members of a branch of the Ecclesiarchy itself, rather they bypass the Decree Passive banning the use of "men under arms" by being members of Crusader Houses, secretive organisations located close to Inquisitorial facilities.
