Dac'tyr was a Captain of the Salamanders 4^th Company.^[1]

Salamanders pilots ritually scar themselves with a dactyl sigil and so as Captain, Dac'tyr bears a more magnificent sigil with a wider wingspan and a longer tail to convey his position as Master of the Fleet and Lord Of Burning Skies.^[1] He bears the sigil over his right eye while his left eye is bionic.^[2a] As master of the Salamanders Fleet, he led the orbital defense of Nocturne, commanding the Battle Barge Flamewrought.^[2b] Dac'tyr also commanded the Hammer of Nocturne when it attacked the Rok of Ages^[3]

At some point since the formation of the Great Rift he was replaced by Xavus^[4]
