Daemonic Gifts are a 3rd Edition, revised codex, concept which provided names for various upgrades chaos units could take. The use of these names was rescinded with the release of the 4th edition Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

  • Daemonic Armour takes the form of huge, thick daemonic armour plates covering the body of the wearer. Units with this power include Obliterators.
  • Daemonic Aura gives the recipient a similar defensive aura to most other daemons. Units with this power include Obliterators, Lesser Daemons.
  • Daemon Chains are designed to aid control of if and when the recipient is possessed by a daemon of the warp. They often take the form of chains although are usually imbued with some form of warp-related power.
  • Daemonic Essence fills the recipient with greater essence, so he effectively has more bulks than before. Units with this power include Typhus.
  • Daemon Fire allows the recipient to project fire towards the enemy, often in the form of a breath weapon. Units with this power include Possessed, Horrors of Tzeentch.
  • Daemonic Flight is some form of mutation to allow the recipient to move as if they were flying, often taking the form of wings. Units with this power include Bloodthirster, Lord of Change, Possessed, Raptors, Screamers, Furies.
  • Daemonic Mutation usually gives the recipient some form of extra limb with which to attack the enemy. Units with this power include Possessed.
  • Daemonic Resilience gives the recipient thicker or tougher skin and stronger bones to help defend against incoming attacks. Units with this power include Obliterators.
  • Daemonic Rune is some form of talisman or other object which prevents the user from being killed prematurely. Units with this power include Kharn the Betrayer.
  • Chaos Spawn are followers of Chaos whose bodies have mutated to such an extent that they have become heaving, protoplasmic blobs, with writhing tentacles. They are mindless, attacking and eating anything nearby. Once a Chaos follower has suffered such a fate, their former comrades might keep them to unleash them upon their enemies.
  • Daemonic Speed gives the recipient supernatural movement speed.
  • Daemonic Strength grants incredible strength to the recipient beyond even Space Marines. Units with this power include Lucius
  • Daemonic Stature is an upgrade which makes the Chaos Lord much taller and bulks out the muscles in their arms and legs.
  • Daemonic Steed gives the recipient some form of mount to ride, allowing them to move across the battlefield faster. See Daemonic Steed for a list of mounts.
  • Daemonic Talons take the form of long finger-like appendages often dripping with blood or some other gory never-ending material. Units with this power include Possessed, Daemonettes
  • Daemonic Venom allows the recipient to project venomous liquid over attackers.
  • Daemonic Visage gives the recipient an image (often the face) which causes terrible fear in all enemies near to it. Units with this power include Possessed, Raptors, Typhus.
