Erasmus Krag was a Chaos Lord of the Black Legion, and veteran of the Long War, whose Warband was attacked by the forces of the Dark Angels' led by Grand Master Sammael.[1]

Hunt for the Fallen

On a Warp wracked world near the Eye of Terror, Krag's Warband was suddenly attacked at their small outpost by the forces of the Dark Angels. At first unsure of how the Dark Angels had found them, he quickly learned that a Chaos Champion in his Warband, was also a member of the Fallen. Once Krag learned of the reason for the Dark Angels' attack, he quickly used this to his advantage to strike back at them. Since the Dark Angels did not know who amongst his forces was the Fallen, Krag used the other Champions in his Warband to attack them; making the Dark Angels' forces split up and attack every single Champion, while keeping their true target hidden. Though his Warband inflicted massive causalities amongst the Dark Angels using this tactic, the Sons of the Lion never relented and struck down Krag's Champions one by one in their search for the Fallen. Eventually the Dark Angels advanced so far into the outpost, that Krag himself came under attack from Sammael; which began a long duel between the two commanders, as their forces died around them.[1]

During their long duel, Krag fought with such skill that Sammael became convinced that he was the Fallen, the Dark Angels had been hunting. The Chaos Lord said nothing to dissuade the Dark Angel from this, before he finally struck Sammael down. As Krag stood over the wounded Grand Master, he realized that he stood alone on the battlefield; as the forces of his Warband near him, lay dead. He had little time to ponder his predicament, before he was killed by massive Bolter fire launched by the Dark Angels. Soon after his death the majority of Krag's Warband were killed and the Fallen was driven from hiding and captured by the victorious Dark Angels.[1]
