Chaplain Lemartes is a particularly strong-willed figure within our battle hungry Chapter, leading into battle those of his damned brethren who have succumbed to the Black Rage. Lemartes himself is afflicted by the tragic curse, although through his supreme strength of will he is able to have some control over his fury. The authority he commands is matched only by our Chapter master himself, and such is his respect amongst his brothers that he is able, with a word, to restrain the blood frenzied nature of even those under the influence of the Black Rage. Equipped with his terrifying death mask, he is a fearful figure of doom, a nightmare to behold as he charges into combat, unleashing the full fury of his barely contained rage. Brother Captain Erasmus Tycho took charge of the 3rd Company of the Blood Angels when his predecessor was slain during the Battle for Armageddon. Tycho nearly suffered the same fate himself during a clash between his troops and a small Ork warband in the jungles that separated Armageddon Prime and Secundus. Early in the combat, which the Blood Angels eventually won, Tycho was the victim of a deadly psychic attack by an Ork Weirdboy and was left for dead.

Somehow, no-one is quite sure how, Tycho managed to survive, although the after-effects of the terrible mental assault resulted in one half of his face being paralysed into a horrible rictus grin. The Blood Angels fine aesthetic taste and appreciation of artistic and beautiful things is well known, so for them injuries of this type are almost worse than death itself. Tycho had a special mask made by the Blood Angels' most respected and revered artificer in order to hide the disfigurement of his features, but he never forgave the Orks for what they have done to him.

During the 3rd Armageddon war, Chaplains noticed a familiar gleem in Tycho's eye, and knewwhen they spoke to him he was seeing visions of the final battles of Sanguinius and was hard pressed to tell them apart from reality. Tycho was inducted into the Death company and he asked to lead the assault on the Ork held defences of Hive Tempestora. Records show how he fought with the fury and skill of our Primarch, unstoppable amidst the sea of Orks, enduring wounds that would kill a normal man outright. Alas they took their toll upon Tycho but his sacrifice enabled the Blood Angels to take the position. Tycho's body was escorted to Baal by an honour gaurd of Blood Angels and Salamanders, and there have been rumours that Tycho walks on the battlefield once more, entombed within his own dreadnought
