An Astra Militarum battle group en route to aid Ultramar, during its invasion by the forces of Nurgle, instead descended upon Gretienne's Garden to end the uprising. After months of intense battles, the Genestealer Cults withdrew into the world's densest woods, and the offensive then devolves into a series of seek and destroy missions. After this, the majority of the battle group was called away by order of the Ordo Xenos and only a handful of Catachan armoured Regiments were left to destroy the remaining infestation. The departure was fortuitously timed, for days later Gretienne's Garden's System was cut off from all communication – shrouded by the warp shadow emanating from a fast approaching splinter of Hive Fleet Jormungandr. Undeterred, the Catachans quickly moved to destroy the remaining Genestealer Cults and then began incinerating any living thing that crossed their path. Due to their efforts, the forest world and every mutant on it was reduced to ash by the time the Tyranids descend upon Gretienne's Garden. The Catachans then held out for as long as they could before they were devoured by the Tyranids, but after finding the once-lush world stripped of its vital bio-mass, the Jormungandr fleet sets off towards other Imperium worlds.[1]
