Obel
Obel was a Guardsman of the Tanith First and Only regiment.[1][2]
Biography
Obel served from the regiment's inception on Tanith, initially as a Trooper.[1]
In the Tanith First's third theatre, Caligula, the troop-ship Obel was riding in was brought down by a psychic storm in a forest caldera. Obel suffered a number of chest wounds, which were bad enough that Major Rawne advocated leaving Obel and the other wounded behind or mercy-killing them. However Colonel-Commissar Gaunt, the regiment's commander, chose to take Obel and the others with them. Sure enough, thanks to Gaunt's leadership, all of the survivors of the crash made it off Caligula in one piece, despite a fight against a number of Chaos Cultists.[1]
By the time of the Hagia campaign, Obel had been elevated to officer status, now holding the rank of Corporal.[2] He was promoted again, to the rank of Sergeant, by the time of the Phantine campaign.[3]
