A psychcannon is a technological and religiously empowered creation of [[Mankind]]. Its primary use is to destroy all manner of unholy matter such as [[daemon]]s and [[warp]] spawn. In short, it is a special form of [[bolter]] which is ritually blessed by both the Magos creators of the [[Adeptus Mechanicus]] under the [[Machine God]], and by a member of the [[Ecclesiarchy]] in the name of the God [[Emperor]]. Each bolt is also incribed with all manner of symbols such as protection wards and banishment rites. Coupled with the psychically charged weapon, this makes for a devestating power against Chaos. It is used mainly by the [[Daemon Hunters]] [[Grey Knights]] army and and [[Inquisitor]]s of the [[Ordo Malleus]].

The psychcannon can also be used in another way called [[Neural Uplink]]. The psycannon is directly linked to the Neural stream of the user and can be used upon the whim of a thought. this has two advantages: it gives the user a time advantage as their opponant will not realise they are about to fire on them. Also, if the user is psychicly able, they can infuse their own power with that of the weapon, adding to its already devestating effect.

An Imperial Psycannon

Psycannons are weapons utilized by the Ordo Malleus and Grey Knights.

Overview

Pasycannons are based on the boltgun, firing bolts heavily impregnated with negative psychic energy. The bolt is devastating to the psyches and physical bodies of psykers, daemons, and the possessed. As if the negative psychic energy was not enough, each psycannon bolt is also silver-tipped and inscribed with anti-daemonic symbols.

A Grey Knights Terminator armed with a psycannon can fire it at full effect even when on the move.

The Psycannon can also be used in conjunction with a device called a Mind Impulse Unit. The Psycannon is linked to the mind of the user and is fired by mental intent. This has the advantages of allowing the user to fire the weapon while keeping both hands free, and allowing the user a greater intimacy with his weapon's internal workings, such as ammunition count or barrel temperature. In addition, if the user is a psyker, they can infuse their own power with that of the weapon, adding to its already devastating effect.
