The Remembrancer Order was a group of poets, journalists, imagists and writers that were sent to accompany the Imperial forces during the later years of the Great Crusade, once the Emperor had returned to Terra.[1]
History
The remembrancers were tasked by the Emperor to record, for posterity, mankind's greatest triumph, the Great Crusade. However they were generally disliked by both the regular troops and the Astartes. Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, was rumoured to have groused that all remembrancers should be given weapons if they wanted to be on the front lines.[1]
When the Horus Heresy began, the Imperium issued the Edict of Dissolution which officially dissolved the Order of Remembrancers and removed the status they once held; though the reason for the Dissolution was kept from the former Remembrancers. Further, on the orders of Malcador, they were to be immediately sent to Terra, where they would be debriefed by his office.[11]
It is not known what happened to the records they made during the Great Crusade, except that by the 41st Millennium they had been either entirely destroyed or otherwise concealed.[Needs Citation]

- Serena d'Angelus, painter - Impaled herself with the corpse of Ostian Delafour.[4a]
- Coraline Aseneca, actress - killed by the performance of the Maraviglia and possessed by a daemonette.[4b]
- Leopold Cadmus, poet - murdered by Serena d'Angelus.[4]
- Sketina Dei, a renowned artist.[10b]
- Ostian Delafour, sculptor - Impaled by Fulgrim on the anathame through a statue of the Emperor.[4a]
- Dolvar, wrote on the history of the Thunder Warriors.[10a]
- Kallista Eris, historiographer - Died shortly before the Burning of Prospero.[5a]
- Hellic, unknown - assigned to the Word Bearers' 1,301st Expeditionary Fleet[12a]. Likely killed after the Drop Site Massacre.[12d]
- Sermis Iconialis, iterator - assigned to the Raven Guard Legion. Was later sent to Terra to be debriefed by the offices of Malcador, after the Remembrancers were disbanded during the Heresy.[11]
- Ishaq Kadeen, imagist - assigned to the Word Bearers' 1,301st Expeditionary Fleet[12a]. Took image of Word Bearers' heresy to Adeptus Custodes led by Aquillon[12c], which led to fatal confrontation between them. Likely killed by Captain Argel Tal in retaliation after the Drop Site Massacre.[12d]
- Kaliha, imagist - assigned to the Word Bearers' 1,301st Expeditionary Fleet[12b]. Likely killed after the Drop Site Massacre.[12d]
- Mahavastu Kallimakus, documentarist - Disappeared shortly before the Burning of Prospero.[5b][8]
- Ignace Karkasy, poet - Killed by Maggard.[2]
- Euphrati Keeler, imagist - Escaped Isstvan III aboard the Eisenstein.[3]
- Bequa Kynska, musician - killed by daemonettes during the performance of the Maraviglia.[4b]
- Lueianna, composer - assigned to the Word Bearers' 1,301st Expeditionary Fleet[12a]. Likely killed after the Drop Site Massacre.[12d]

- Solomon Voss, wordsmith - Executed by Rogal Dorn.[6]
- "The Silversmith" (unnamed) - murdered by Serghar Targost.[9]
Modern Remembrancers
In the 41st Millenium, the title of Remembrancer is still used, although how it came to be used again is unknown. These "modern" remembrancers appear to record the history of the Imperium, much like the remembrancers of the Great Crusade. However, unlike remembrancers of the Great Crusade, "modern" remembrancers do not appear to accompany Imperial armies into the field.[7b] One example of an M41-era remembrancer was Tremault, who wrote the The Accounts of the Tallarn.[7a]
Following the resurrection of Roboute Guilliman at the end of the Ultramar Campaign, the Primarch made Lev Tieron his personal Remembrancer.[13]
