The Remembrancer Order is a group of poets, journalists, photographers and writers that were sent with the Imperial forces on the second part of the Great Crusade, once the Emperor had returned to Terra. The remembrancers were tasked by the Emperor to record for posterity mankind's greatest triumph, the Great Crusade, however they were generally disliked by both the regular troops and the Astartes. Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, is believed to have suggested that all remembrancers be given a gun if they wanted to be on the front lines.1

It is not known what happened to the records they made during the Great Crusade, except that by the forty first millennium they had been either entirely destroyed or otherwise concealed.
