The Scarla Sector is an Imperial sector in the galactic south-eastern spiral arm.[1a]

History

Following the Horus Heresy, the Blood Angels were said to have placed the body of Sanguinius in a tomb on one of the planets in the Sector during their return to Baal, for unknown reasons. This has lead to large numbers of pilgrims in the Sector looking to locate the lost tomb, and led to the growth of the Cult of the Winged One, the dominant branch of the Imperial Creed in the Sector.[1b]

At some point the Sector was lost to the Imperium. By the time it was rediscovered it was riven by a civil war known as the Scarla Wars between two religious factions, the Morriuians who believed tales of the resurrection of Sanguinius as the 'Winged One' to protect Mankind, and the Unbelievers who did not accept these tales.[1b] This ended when the Inquisition discovered the Unbelievers had been corrupted by a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch, and purged them from the system.[1c]

Known Subsectors and Planets

The Scarla Sector contains twelve planetary systems.[1a]
