The Son of John was an Imperial Transport active during the Gothic War.¹

Early in the war, the Son of John's convoy was attacked by a Slaughter Class Cruiser while en route to Port Maw. The Cruiser made it through the convoy's escort screen, at which point the Son of John moved to engage it at point-blank. Though the Son of John was destroyed, its suicidal charge distracted the Chaos ship long enough for the rest of the convoy to escape.¹
