Admiral Spire[1]

Spire is an Admiral of the Imperial Navy.

Biography

Spire was born on an Imperial world that eventually rebelled, tarnishing his reputation. Regardless, he remained loyal and rose to captain in the Imperial Navy. In 139.M41, Spire led a Dauntless Light Cruiser of the Battlefleet Gothic into the Naxos system to investigate the loss of contact with Orbital Station Aleph. He and his forces found the station overrun by heretics and encountered a large Chaos fleet, but were able to jump back into the Warp before being destroyed.[1]

Back at Port Maw, Spire relayed the encounter to the Gothic Sector's high command. Considering his background and thus possible corruption, he was subjected to a brutal interrogation by the Inquisition to ensure that his information was reliable and he himself a trustworthy commander. Afterwards, he was promoted to the rank of Admiral by Cornelius von Ravensburg. Spire proved his skill during the following 12th Black Crusade. He played a vital role of keeping xenos artifacts out of the hands of Chaos forces during the war, helped to forge an alliance with the Aeldari Corsair Prince Eldrathain Voidstinger, and fought in major engagements such as the Battle of Gethsemane and Battle of Schindlegeist.[1]

Spire and his surviving fleet returned from the Warp at the time of the 13th Black Crusade, discovering that eight centuries had passed in the Materium. During the renewed war in the Cadian System against the forces of Abaddon the Despoiler, Spire met with the reborn Roboute Guilliman and retained a position of high command.[2]
