Talk:Cadian Shock Troopers

This article is huge, is it wise to keep importing stuff? --Madness 21:07, 28 May 2008 (CEST)

Well, the import of '7th Cadian' was done simply to fit with the established convention. Personally speaking, I dislike this page and the other large IG Regiment pages; they are ugly and unwieldy. Whilst I would lay claim to being more of a content-orientated person than a structure person, I'd like to see a redesign of these types of pages. Losing (preferable) or hiding the galleries would make the page look more attractive. The regiment lists could just be a simple (non-headed) list with only those regiments who have more than "used harsh language on the gribblies at planet Spongebob Minor" as their description having a very sparse entry or becoming their own articles. *shrugs* Thanks.--Mob 21:52, 28 May 2008 (CEST)
Still, there is way too much information about thousands of regiments, turning off the images doesn't fix that. :\ --Madness 22:02, 28 May 2008 (CEST)
How would you feel about the sparse list? something like:

"==Known Shock Troops Regiments==

  • Cadian 3rd Shock Troops - 13th Black Crusade
  • Cadian 7th Shock Troops - 13th Black Crusade
  • Cadian 8th Shock Troops 'Lord Castellan's Own' - Vrakesworld Campaign, Gerreck Heresy 13th Black Crusade
  • Cadian 9th Shock Troops - Battle of Fortress Carcasson
  • Cadian 15th - Defense of Mihok Secundus
  • Cadian 22nd 'Bloodhounds of the Emperor' - Defense of Mihok Secundus
  • Cadian 23rd Shock Troops - Wiped out
  • Cadian 24th Shock Troops
  • Cadian 39th Shock Troops ' Xenobane' - Chinchare cleansing, Veldt Campaign
  • Cadian 85th Shock Troops 'Fired Drakes - Gorsinian Lava Desert Campaign
  • Cadian 107th Shock Troops - 13th Black Crusade
  • Cadian 110th Shock Troops 'Shadow Corps' - Purging of Shaboloth Night World
  • Cadian 122nd Shock Troops - Vintock III Campaign, Defence of Vogen City
  • Cadian 180th Shock Troops 'Stalking Tigers' - Rassagar III Campaign"

&etc, with say, Cadian 8th getting their own page.

It would make the page after the description of Shock Troops into a big list, but considering the amount of known regiments, that's always going to be a problem. A separate list page would make this one nicer, but it still leaves us with a big list somewhere.--Mob 22:21, 28 May 2008 (CEST)

Alright. Here's my game plan today. I want to make new articles for the 412th and 8th so they have their own place. The 412th is important because of their role in the Dawn of War games and many fans have been expanding on this, particularly today alone. Putting the 412th in its own article will SHRINK this article and expand a new one. Most of the Imperial regiment pages are far too long. Until we work out a new gameplan, this will take the most popular ones and put them somewhere people can more readily access and change, instead of having to work through this marsh of information. --Lygris 15:54, 10 September 2008 (CEST)

.... On second thoughts, I have a new idea. First, take crucial Cadian regiments, such as the 412th and 8th, and possibly the 7th and any others who come to mind, and give them their own articles. Then, rip this article in three parts: A general overview of Cadian regiments (training, armaments, etc), a list of Cadian trooper regiments, then the third is the armoured regiments. Finally, add links between these articles, creating a managable network of detail. This will VASTLY cut down on the length of this article and make it managable. I want opinions before I go as far as the latter half of my idea. --Lygris 16:07, 10 September 2008 (CEST)
It is, (dun dun DUNNNN!), finished. The citations need cleansing and unfinished links need to be made complete, but this article is far less overwhelming. --Lygris 17:10, 12 September 2008 (CEST)
Awesome job there Lygris, you did quite well. It looks a lot better now. :) -- C'tan 16:55, 12 September 2008 (CEST)
Thank you, C'Tan. --Lygris 19:23, 12 September 2008 (CEST)
Question, what about the ones that appeared durin Retribution? When I check the ones in the game it says 8th Cadian. --Dandan550 12:59, 21 March 2011 (CET)
