Homeworld

Are we sure that Talasa Prime is THE homeworld, rather than just a base? Deathwatch are recruited from other existing chapters and spread across the galaxy after all Thelemur 06:42, 21 November 2011 (CET)

Any feedback on this question? The Lemur 02:02, 2 April 2012 (CEST)

Deathwatch Special Units

The Deathwatch has some special units that are explored in Rites of Battle? Should they be included somewhere on this list?

Some of these already exist in other chapters, but some are unique to the deathwatch.--Ashendant 01:34, 28 March 2012 (CEST)
Any Answers?--Ashendant 02:41, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
If it's a unique rank then in its own article. If it exists in other chapters it should be included in the respective articles. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 17:25, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
Hmm besides the two already non-red do you know which are unique and which are not?--Ashendant 19:24, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
That would depend on what is written about them ;) Seriously, it should be pretty obvious if sth is Deathwatch specific. In the worst case make a separate article and link to there from for example the Chaplain page. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 19:42, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
You Tell me(lots of botched text)--Ashendant 20:35, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
And i mean that seriously. would this count as a independent article or not?--Ashendant 21:23, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
Since it seems o diverge from standard chaplain duties etc: yes. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 21:27, 29 March 2012 (CEST)
Thanks that makes my job a whole lot easier. i'll try to do with every single of these articles if there's anything that should be pointed out tell me.--Ashendant 21:34, 29 March 2012 (CEST)

Notable Members

"Notable Members" section seems overly large, should be moved to a "Known Members" list like other Chapter pages with only truly notable characters left on the main page. The Lemur 02:02, 2 April 2012 (CEST)

Agreed--Ashendant 02:02, 2 April 2012 (CEST)
Yup. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 11:04, 3 April 2012 (CEST)

Chapter Status

Where is it stated that the Deathwatch is considered as a chapter ? --Skefrep 10:38, 18 September 2012 (CEST)

I agree. I don't regard the Deathwatch as a 'true' chapter. DagsannrFor the grea... Allfather! 11:43, 18 September 2012 (CEST)
IIRC they are called a Chapter in the novel Xenos (Eisenhorn-Trilogy), last third of the book, when the imperial forces hold a meeting to plan the decisive battle. --DetlefK 15:02, 18 September 2012 (CEST)
Found it: Mentioned here and there throughout chapters 21, 22 and 23. --DetlefK 20:53, 18 September 2012 (CEST)

EVERY SM Chapter

In the last Codex: Deathwatch (at least at the page with its information on site GW - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Codex-Deathwatch-hardback-2018-ENG) there is now stated that 'they select their number from the greatest warriors of every (!) Space Marines Chapter'. So - may be THAT is a new background and we already don't need the 'Contributing Chapters' part of this article?--Darkelf77 (talk) 08:54, 6 May 2018 (MDT)
Just change it to "Known contributors" and add a note that the DW recruits from all chapters with the source. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:38, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
"Famous Contributors" then. Meaning that they are mentioned in some sources. Hm?--Darkelf77 (talk) 12:00, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
If it is some minor sidekick who gets killed on page 2 of a novel I would not consider that "famous". Let's stick with "known". Meaning they are documented in a source, yes. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 12:03, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
But now ALL of the Chapters are contributors. Why mention at all those that documented?--Darkelf77 (talk) 15:19, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
Why not? But in any case it would be good to add the specific Space Marine's names, maybe the whole should take the form of a table. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:48, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
It's not every space marine chapter. The Ultimaris Decree only applies to every "newly founded Primaris Space Marine Chapter". Here's the image [1] and here's the source [2] --Ashendant (talk) 16:08, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
I just took the info from page of GW - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Codex-Deathwatch-hardback-2018-ENG. There is stated that 'they select their number from the greatest warriors of every (!) Space Marines Chapter'. The info about Primaris goes in the next sentence. But if this is a figure of speech and not a literal statement, then it's all right. Let it be as it is, then with 'Contributing Chapters'.--Darkelf77 (talk) 23:48, 7 May 2018 (MDT)
