Howsabout this page ('flamers') be limited to flamers proper - in other words literal flamers (flamers and heavy flamers).

While 'flame weapons' is for general flame weapons (linking to the specific flame weapons). --Acidface 18:59, 2 February 2008 (CET)

I'm wondering if we shouldn't use this page only for imperium made flamers, and even then we have Exterminators/Inferno Cannons/Inferno Gun/Incinerators who have dedicated pages.
Ork Burnas from 3rd edition are huge cutting torches that can be used as full fledged flamers, no idea about scorchas, also I'm not sure they use prometheum or what. Someone with access to the 2nd edition codex might try to look something up there. But it appears to me that while the imperium version is a simple device that fires a complex chemical ... fluid(?) the ork version is just a raw pump that spits high pressure flammable gas or liquid (which problably is different on every planet based upon what they could put their green hands on, same as they do with their vehicles' fuel I guess) and set it on fire.
Eldar guardians used flamers in early versions of the game, the fire dragon exarch still has a pseudo flamer-lance, no idea on the technical base of it either, will dig something about it later.
To sum things up, some research needs to be done for flame weapons, please don't leave me do this tremendous job alone, specially if you have access to all the codices.--Madness 22:18, 28 March 2008 (CET)
I believe this page is designed for imperial flamers, probably those just with the name flamer, but as you point out others had flamers too. I have various codices available (though not all) so I can have a look at some point, i'm just not really certain as to how this sort of thing should be structured to be honest. The general policy is that each thing should have its own article, which in that case calls for Heavy Flamer to have its own, but then its just a larger version of the previous one... :S I'll have a look for flamer-based research after i've done some real life work :P--Jonru 11:57, 29 March 2008 (CET)
As much as I agree with the Heavy Flamer being just 2 flamers strapped together(stormflamer?) I think we're better off with with an article for each, as the imperium is vast, and the variants are many.--Madness 23:31, 1 April 2008 (CEST)

Regarding the recent edits to the flamer page, any sources for it? Not sure if the parts about certain Chaos Marines *not* using flamers should be there either. Any thoughts? Th232 16:06, 28 August 2008 (CEST)
