I suggest creating a new category for this type of book, "Category: Background Book".

It not a novel. It is not a codex or rule book (as it has no rules).

Other books that would fit in the "Background Book" category are: How to Paint Space Marines Index Astartes IV (as it has no rules, just background information). --Rlyehable 15:08, 29 January 2007 (CET)

For the time being it comes under "media" as in the German Lex. However I will discuss the possibility of creating a background books section on the Lexicanum Forum. --Inquisitor S. 16:11, 29 January 2007 (CET)

I like the idea of a background books category. As you can see from the Black Library Publishing page, there are quite a few to be added! --newsdeskdan 18:05, 29 January 2007 (GMT)

However it's a quite recent addition (books without rules) so there wasn't really a need for that. As I said I will think about it. After all it's only a handfull of books so far. --Inquisitor S. 19:42, 29 January 2007 (CET)

Why is chapter specific marking info from this source always omitted? The book contains schemes for 60 chapters each one accompanied by a note stating how they denote company, many of the chapters entries on here have Insignium Astartes listed as a source but almost all of them simply list the chapters colours as the example scheme - surely its a disservice to people looking for uniform info to simply list "Chapter X has blue armour with a gold trim" when an official GW publication has explicitly stated that the chapter X's trim is in the company colour? --Gashrog 16:28, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
