This list needs sources!

The source format would mean a massive and unwieldy list of source/footnotes, especially later on when adding planets in an already long numbered list. The actual state of the list would mean 1 to 4 sources per planet (even if picking the first source, you still have to account for name, sector, category, and extra info). Info has to be sourced, but it would be worth either using the same template as, say, List of Novels or to remove [Needs Citation] when the planet's article (if it exists) itself is correctly sourced, limiting the number of planet that would need an source in the list per se. - Eeek 22/08/2023

Yes I agree, it's a problem on a few articles. Overall it relates to the issue of if we need to provide more footnotes on list pages where the items are already cited in their own articles. At the very least, there should only be 1 source necessary in a column at the end (and not even a footnote but the source itself). Harriticus (talk) 01:50, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Segmentae and locations

Just finished a first round of citations, and I was wondering if it might be a good idea to change the "Segmentum" column into something along the lines of "Location". This would allow to group all relevant information instead of relying on the "Notes" column, especially in cases where sectors / sub-sectors / systems are mentioned but not the segmentum. It would also help with worlds outside Imperium boundaries.

I doubt it's used as a databank for any template (or anything on lexicanum has those, for that matter), so it'd seem to be purely cosmetic, which would find it hard to get opposed. However, I question whether it's worth the effort, since Notes column would still remain due to other data, but it's up to you. Also, a string of four tildes: ~~~~ makes the signature appear with a timestamp of edit, which we use on discussion pages, like this: --Brownpandanotgrizzly (talk) 14:52, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the tildes trick, I see I still have much to learn. I was thinking the "Notes" column could be used for other data such as alternate names or significant events, but you do have a point. Might as well make use of it to fill in whatever blanks we can. MaledictMorrigan (talk) 17:18, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, I wouldn't bother adding a more specific location, as that should be in the planet's article anyway. KazilDarkeye (talk) 19:53, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
