Talk:Thought for the day

"First in First out" (FIFO) is the traditionell motto of storage management, especially for food. :)

Har har :P I know, I've worked in a supermarket myself. Anyway, considering the W40K universe... I think it has to remain removed from this article ;) -- JoeneB, 27 July 2006, 19:46 (CEST)
Seems correct - has nothing to do with WH40K. --Dorle 20:10, 27 July 2006 (CEST)

Hmm, this will not be easy. This will take more than a couple of days. But it will be done. Irulan 01:49, 3 June 2007 (CEST)

Just checking, is the Dawn of War computer game considered a legitimate source? If so, there are quite a few quotes from the "Thought of the Day" quotes that appear on the start screen:

A broad mind lacks focus.

A mind without purpose will wander in dark places.

A small mind is a tidy mind.

A suspicious mind is a healthy mind.

Be strong in your ignorance

Better crippled in body than corrupt in mind.

Brave are they who know everything yet fear nothing

Cease and repent!

Cowards die in shame.

Damnation is eternal

Death be thy compass.

Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life.

Examine your thoughts!

Fear denies faith

If a job's worth doing it's worth dying for!

Innocence proves nothing.

It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for yourself.

No man died in His service that died in vain.

Then these two are quotes from the Librarian unit, so I don't know if they count as "thought of the day"

An open mind is like a fortress with it's gates unbarred and unguarded.

Knowledge is power, guard it well.

Quote from Isador Akios in DoW

Blessed is the mind too small for doubt

And this one is a common Chaos quote!

Sanity is for the weak.

This one is already mentioned in the Space Marines quotes.

Victory does not always rest with the big guns; but if we rest in front of them, we shall be lost.

Should I move/remove them as necessary? If so, which ones? Th232 12:17, 4 June 2007 (CEST)

I think as long as they actually are thoughts for the day then they should go here, as cited Dawn of War, however the librarian one's should go under Quotes Space Marines i believe. Cheers, good work.--Jonru 12:32, 4 June 2007 (CEST)
Done. Found that several were duplicated, and had been sourced from elsewhere, so I just removed them. It actually wouldn't surprise me if a lot of them had been taken from elsewhere, either. Th232 14:20, 4 June 2007 (CEST)
If memory serves, a lot of the quotes used in Dawn of War were taken from the old 2nd ed book (Codex Imperialis, Wargear, and the Rulebook), so even if anyone doubts DoW as a source, they can still be used! Rooney

DoW Quotes

Someone changed "Thou shalt not" to "Thou shalt not, thy shalt." Two things, one, that makes no sense. "You will not, you will"? Two, if that's a DoW quote, it's simply "Thou shalt not."

I believe he/she was referring to the Canoness' quote "Thou shalt not, I shall." But the real Thought for the Day one is "Thou shalt not." --Cherubael 08:02, 13 October 2008 (CEST)
