Ultima Segmentum

The Ultima Segmentum is home to many worlds as it is the largest segmentum in the Imperium. It contains the Ultramarines empire of Ultramar. The Segmentum Naval Base is Kar Duniash.
Segmentum Ultima has seen attacks by two separate Tyranid Hive Fleets, Behemoth and Kraken. It also contains the persistent warp storm known as the Storm of the Emperor's Wrath. It also contains the Maelstrom, a warp-real space convergence much like the Eye of Terror, but on a smaller scale. The Maelstrom harbours various piratical renegades who launch raids from it.

The world of Gorkamorka (Angelis) is located to the North East of the segmentum, within a region of space known as the Ghost Stars. These are not formally part of the Imperium, but can be classed as being part of Ultima Segmentum due to their proximity to it.
