The Lexicanum is available in three languages. Interlexicanum links (in some cases also known as "interlanguage links") are used to connect the different Lexicanum projects, i.e. not only the different language versions, but also the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer settings.

What types of Interlexicanum are there

There are two different types of Interlexicanum links:

 • Interlexicanum links to a different language version (hence "interlanguage" links) of the page in question. Please be aware that these links will only appear in the Navigation buttons bar on the left of the screen. These interlanguage Interlexicanum links will from now on be referred to Interlanguage Interlexicanum type I. If for one reason or another you want to link to another (i.e. different from the page you want to place the link on) page in a different language Lexicanum (i.e. an internal link) you have to format these links in a different way (see below). The latter type of interlanguage Interlexicanum links is designated Interlanguage Interlexicanum type II to try to avoid confusion.
 • Interlexicanum links to the sister Lexicanum(s) dealing with Warhammer

How to create Interlexicanum links

How to create interlanguage links of the same page (i.e. Interlanguage Interlexicanum type I)

It is really simple to create Interlexicanum links to a different language version of a page. Once you have checked that an article exists in the German and/ or French Lexicanum and what it is called (pay attention to spelling!) you simply type:

de:exact name of the page in the German Lexicanum

or

en:exact name of the page in the English Lexicanum

or

fr:exact name of the page in the French Lexicanum

Example: To create the interlanguage links of this page that appear in the Navigation buttons you would type:

de:Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Interlexicanum

and

fr:Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Interlexicanum

And the final result in the Navigation buttons then looks like this:

How to create internal interlanguage links to another page (i.e. Interlanguage Interlexicanum type II)

It is possible to create an internal link in an article that leads to a page with a different subject than the page this link will be inserted into on a different language Lexicanum. Each language version of the Warhammer 40,000 Lexicanum has its own prefix (followed by more information, see examples below), all of which are listed here:

Warhammer 40.000 German:
lex_de_wh40k
Warhammer 40.000 English:
lex_en_wh40k
Warhammer 40.000 French:
lex_fr_wh40k

 • Example 1:

The link to the German article for Horus looks like this:

Wikitext:
Horus
Result: Horus
 • Example 2:

The link to the French article for Horus looks like this:

Wikitext:
Horus
Result: Horus

How to create internal links to the Warhammer Fantasy Lexicanum (in different languages)

It is also possible to create Interlexicanum internal links to the Lexicanum site dealing with the sister setting of Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer (we will refer to it as Warhammer Fantasy for the rest of the article to avoid confusion). This can make sense because both settings share a considerable number of elements and it might be interesting to see the parallels and differences - sometimes events in one setting even influence the other setting.

This Interlexicanum link can be a "classic" one, i.e. you just link to a relevant article in the Warhammer Fantasy Lexicanum in the same language (i.e. English) or in another language (i.e. German and/ or French):

Warhammer Fantasy English:

lex_en_whfb

Warhammer Fantasy German:

lex_de_whfb

Warhammer Fantasy French:

lex_fr_whfb
 • Example:

The link to the English language article for the Warhammer Fantasy incarnation of the Chaos God Khorne looks like this:

Wikitext:
Khorne
Result: Khorne

The link to the corresponding page on the German language version of the Warhammer Fantasy Lexicanum looks like this:

Wikitext:
Khorne
Result: Khorne

And the link to the corresponding page on the French language version of the Warhammer Fantasy Lexicanum looks like this:

Wikitext:
Khorne
Result: Khorne

How to create internal links to the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Lexicanum (only available in English)

It is of course also possible to create Interlexicanum internal links links to the Lexicanum site dealing with the sister setting of Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar (often shortened to just Age of Sigmar). This can make sense because all three settings (Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy and Age of Sigmar) do share a considerable number of elements and it might be interesting to see the parallels and differences - sometimes events in one setting even influence the other setting.

The required Interlexicanum to the Age of Sigmar Lexicanum (which currently only exists in one language, English) is:
lex_en_aos
 • Example:

The link to the English language article for the Age of Sigmar incarnation of the Chaos God Khorne looks like this:

Wikitext:
Khorne
Result: Khorne
