Centurion Mersaror in combat with the Word Bearers on the deck of the Infidus Imperator.

Aerion Mersaror was a Centurion and Captain of Vindicus Squad, of the Ultramarines Legion, during the Horus Heresy.

History

Mersaror was aboard the Battle Barge Macragge's Honour during the Battle of Calth, when his Primarch, Roboute Guilliman ordered First Master Marius Gage to pursue the Word Bearers' commander, Kor Phaeron, aboard the fleeing battle barge Infidus Imperator.

Before the Imperator entered the warp, the Honour drew alongside, and Mersaror led a boarding action. However, as he went deeper into the Imperator, the Captain and his forces came across Cultists conducting a Chaos ritual and though Mersaror gave the order to kill the Cultists, the Ultramarines were too late. The power unleashed by the completed ritual seemingly killed all the boarding parties and also heavily damaged the Honour.

Later, after both vessels had entered the Immaterium, a second daemonic attack allowed the Imperator to disappear from the Macragge's Honour's scanners, and attack the Ultramarines without fear of retaliation. It was then, however, that Mersaror tipped the battle in the Ultramarines' favour; having barely survived the power unleashed by the Chaos ritual, Mersaror activated his homing tracer, even as he desperately fought back against a horde of Word Bearers trying to kill him. He voxed Gage aboard the Honour, urging the Chapter Master to fire on his signal before the Word Bearers silenced him.

The tracer's signal allowed the Honour to target the Imperator, just as it was making its third and final attack run. As Mersaror fought off waves of Traitor Marines, the Honour fired devastating volleys upon the Imperator and completely destroyed it.[1]
