Algonquis was a forest moon destroyed by the Death Guard during the Horus Heresy.[1]

History

Algonquis was originally a verdant forest moon populated by vast flocks of colourful birds. Part of an entire sub-sector of agri worlds, it was populated by sparse logging communities that supplied timber to off-world dustmills, workshops, and factories. The coniferous ferrouswood trees produced some of the densest and most durable lumber in the Imperium.[1]

Along with every other agri world in the sub-sector, Algonquis was destroyed by the Death Guard. The Moritat Phorgal chose an ecological decimant that turned the forest moon into a rotting ball of filth and corruption, promoting the growth of aggressive fungi that ripped through the trees. Other parts of the moon were left as a petrified forest of trees stripped of their foliage.[1]
