Arianhrod Esw Sweydry was an associate of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn.

Biography

A human female who had been a swordswoman from the planet Carthae, a practitioner of the Ewl Wyra Scryri school of swordsmanship, and the original bearer of the power sabre Barbarisater. She was a member of Inquisitor Eisenhorn's retinue up til her death in 338.M41, during his final confrontation with Baldame Sadia, at which point she had served Eisenhorn for five years.

Arianhrod cut an imposing figure, standing two metres in height with her silver hair plaited with beads. Arianhrod was the lover of a young Gideon Ravenor. She died fighting a Dark Eldar Haemonculus during the confrontation with Beldame Sadia.

Sometime before her death, she had taught Eisenhorn the Ewl Wyra Scyri art, a skill which he would come to use extensively for the rest of his career. He had also come to "inherit" Barbarisater, although the blade was to be returned to clan Esw Sweydyr on Carthae.¹

She was the aunt of Angharad Esw Sweydyr, another Carthaen swordswoman who had joined the inquisition in memory of her aunt. She would serve the Imperium alongside Ravenor.²
