Command Squad

The Command Squad is there to join a member of the HQ as its bodyguard, but also functions as a rallying point with several specialist units. A Command Squad is made up of a Sergeant and four to nine Tactical Marine armed with Bolters or Bolt Pistols and Close Combat Weapons, Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades. Two of the members can be armed with following weapons, Heavy Bolter, Missile Launcher, Multi-melta, Plasma Cannon, Lascannon, Flamer, Meltagun or Plasma Gun. Most of the time three of the Space Marines act as:
- Apothecary - armed with a Narthecium and Reductor
- Company Standard Bearer - carrying a Company Banner
- Company Champion - Power Weapon, Combat Shield and Bolt Pistol
It is not uncommon for members of the squad to have Terminator Honours and as such have access to the Space Marine Armoury. The Company Standard Bearer for example can then be seen carrying the Chapter Banner, a Sacred Standard or a Holy Relic. The squad can use a Rhino or Razorback, if they number number allows this.
Terminator Command Squad

A different sort of Command Squad, where each marine wears Terminator Armour, can accompany the commanding officer if he also wears Terminator armour. The Squad consists of a normal Terminator Squad, the only difference being that there are three to nine marines in the squad instead of the normal four to nine Terminators in the squad.
