The Crisis Battlesuit Bodyguard is a unit of one to two Shas'vre, wearing Crisis Battlesuits, whose duty is to protect the Tau Commander.^[1] Each bodyguard is typically the Commander's kin or long-time friend, and an experienced veteran of many battles. To be chosen for such a duty is seen as a great honor, and they are respected by the rest of the military for embodying the ideals of the Greater Good at the expense of their own personal glory. As part of the Commander's team, each Bodyguard is allowed to take Special issue equipment and weapons.^{[Needs Citation]}
