The Cult of the Scarlet Vein was a powerful Chaos Cult. It was destroyed by the Relictors while they were still formally part of the Imperium, but all of the Chapter's Battle-Brothers deployed during the battle were lost, save Artekus Bardane, who would later go on to become the Relictors' Chapter Master. During the final battle against the Cult, the Chapter's previous Chapter Master promoted Bardane to Chapter Master before he succumbed to his mortal wounds.^[1]
