The Daecropsicum was a sect of the Dark Mechanicus that was destroyed by the Ordo Malleus.[1a]

History

The Daecropsicum's particular specialty was the summoning of daemons, and, through the use of customized Gellar Field instruments, performing "vivisections" (insofar as creatures of the warp can be said to be alive) of their material bodies. The Daecropsicum believed that a daemon was no more powerful than the sum of its component parts, and that, by extracting the daemons' essence, they could imbue other artefacts with their power and create immensely powerful weapons.[1a]

The Ordo Malleus cornered the Daecropsicum on the fabricator moon of Feldspar and the Grey Knights executed every known adept. Afterwards Feldspar was cleansed by exterminatus to ensure that not a single member of the sect survived. However, the Malleus was unable to eradicate the Daecropsicum's works, including several manuals to their forbidden arts.[1a]

One of their most successful "subjects" was the vivisection of Mammoshad, Greater Daemon of Tzeentch[1a], which was bound into several different artefacts, each of which caused havoc and terrible loss of life wherever it was taken.[1b]
