Dawn of War: Winter Assault is the first expansion pack for the RTS PC game Dawn of War.
In the distant past, an ice world, Lorn V, on the galactic fringe was lost to the forces of Chaos. When the Imperial forces withdrew, they left the wreckage of a fallen Titan behind. Now the regiment of Cadian Shock Troopers, 412th, of the Imperial Guard has come back, under the fierce command of General Sturnn, with aid from a small company of Ultramarines led by Chaplain Varnus, to reclaim the Titan for the Imperium.
The forces of the World Eaters on the planet are not about to surrender it without a fight, however, and Lord Krull will attempt to take the Titan for his own. The Ork Warboss Gorgutz is uniting the various Ork clanz on the planet for a massive Waaagh!, and the Eldar from the Ulthwe Craftworld under Farseer Taldeer have come to attempt to stop a far more dangerous threat: the Necrons.
Alliances will be made and broken on all sides as all four powers attempt to accomplish their own goals, some in a desparate race against time to stop the ever-growing threat of annihilation, some to secure the mission at all costs, and others simply wishing to engage in the most absolute wanton carnage. Only one power can prevail. And that power must then face the ancient menace of the soul-harvesters.
