Sergeant Doranz[Note 1] was gun commander of a Basilisk of the Ketzok 17th Armoured Regiment.

History

On Voltemand, the 'Serpents' were commanded to travel through the Voltemand Mirewoods to Pavis Crossroads in the Bokore Valley. Once there they were to shell Voltis City and provide artillery cover for infantry operating in the valley.

En route to the Pavis Crossroads, the 'Serpents' were attacked by seven World Eater Traitor Marines. After losing two Basilisks and two guncrews, the Tanith First and Only emerged from the woods and and killed the Traitor Marines, preventing them from slaughtering the tightly grouped artillery crews.

Doranz was the man to first supply Colonel Colm Corbec with his trademark licorice cigars, which he gave as thanks for the counter-ambush. Doranz's Basilisk transported Corbec and Brin Milo of the Tanith regiment to their staging point for the assault on Voltis City. He admitted to being frightened by Milo's Tanith Pipes during the assault, and he and Corbec bonded over a cigar during the trip.[1a]

Doranz would later take part in the assault on Oskray Hive on Sapencia.[1b]

Notes

  • Note 1: At one point in Ghostmaker, Doranz's name is given as Dorentz.[1] This is presumably a spelling error.
