Tau Portal

A Drone Controller is a piece of Tau equipment which allows an individual to command one or two Drones. They are usually found on Team leaders and senior Tau (such as Battlesuit Commanders and Ethereals).^1pg12

It acts as a go-between, between the drones and the user and allows them to communicate. Most of the time the controller operates at a default level that simply keeps the Drone obeying its basic programming, but the owner can also use it to issue simple orders beyond the Drone’s normal parameters.^1pg12

The only time they can operate independently is in a squadron of 4 or more.

The Drone Controller is a battlesuit support system and can be hard-wired.
