Eleon Iasus was the Master of the 22nd Chapter (known as the "Nemesis" Chapter) of the Ultramarines Legion during the Great Crusade.[1b]

Biography

Eleon Iasus was born on Macragge and originally served in the 16th Chapter under Evido Banzor. As Captain of the 166th Company, he made a point of fighting alongside every squad under his command. Marius Gage considered him a fine warrior and an excellent captain.[1a]

Shortly before the Battle of Thoas, Iasus was appointed the new Chapter Master of the 22nd "Nemesis" Chapter by Lord Guilliman, bypassing the senior Captain Hierax who would have succeeded Machon Phalaris according to the traditions of the 22nd. This was calculated as part of an effort to bring the non-standard 22nd into line with the wider culture of the Legion.[1b] Iasus was not well received as Chapter Master, Captain Sirras going so far as to disobey a direct order not to use heavy weapons in the tunnels beneath the fortress-complex on Thoas, causing the Chapter to suffer heavy casualties when it was buried in a collapse.[1c] Iasus survived and remained in command of the 22nd at the end of the conflict.[1d]

During the Battle of Anuari and Battle of Pyrrhan Iasus led the Chapter's famed Destroyer squads into battle.[2]
