Ezekial Yesod was a Dreadnought of the Black Templars Chapter.[1]

History

In life, Ezekial achieved the rank of Sword Brother. Before he was critically wounded in battle, he had learned information that would help High Marshal Ludoldus win a war which had an entire system on the brink of destruction. To make sure Ezekial survived to make use of it, the High Marshal had him sealed in a stasis-sarcophagus and sent Castellan Marius Reinhart and a group of Sword Brethren to the forge world of Stygia XII. There, in the the abandoned Black Templar chapter keep Montgisard, they would find a Dreadnought shell capable of saving Yesod life.[1]

Once on the planet, Reinhart met with Interrogator Edwin Savaul, of the Ordo Hereticus, and learned the keep had become the base of operations for a chaos cult. The cult was conducting a ritual to open a warp gate, which if completed would result in an exterminatus launched on the planet. In order to complete his mission, Reinhart lied and agreed to work together with Savaul's forces to destroy Montgisard (claiming that Ezekial's sarcophagus was a fusion reactor that could be rigged into a bomb capable of destroying the keep). Using a secret tunnel the Black Templars, Savaul and a group of Battle Sisters entered the keep, while Stormtroopers launched a diversionary attack. They fought their way through the traitor PDF that made up a majority of the cult and reached the grav lifts that would take them to the chapel, where the heretic priests were close to opening the warp gate.[1]

Here Reinhart told the truth to Savaul and the Sisters and told them the Black Templars would not join them in stopping the ritual. Shocked and angered, Savaul and the Sisters were still determined to stop the cult and ascended to the chapel. The parting words of Sister Superior Helena Britaine convinced Reinhart to change his mind and he charged his Sword Brethren to take the sarcophagus to the catacombs and save Ezekial while he and Apollos aided Savaul.[1]

In the catacombs, the Sword Brethren escorting Ezekial were attacked by a horde of cultists. All save one were killed in the attack, but they bought enough time for Ezekial to be installed in the Dreadnought and regain conscious. Learning of the warp portal and Reinhart's efforts to close it, he advanced through the keep until he reached the chapel. Ezekial entered in time to fire upon the cultists attacking Reinhart's group, until the Castellan detonated a cluster of grenades in his arms near the cult priests opening the portal. The resulting explosion succeeded in stopping the ritual and left Ezekial as one of the few survivors.[1]
