Fireblade was a sword used by the Primarch Fulgrim during the Great Crusade.[1a]

Crafted by Ferrus Manus as the "perfect weapon", Fulgrim in turn built and gave Ferrus the hammer Forgebreaker. A Power Sword capable of generating immense heat, this finely crafted weapon was largely replaced when Fulgrim discovered the Blade of Laeran. [1a] However Fulgrim did use this weapon during his confrontation with Ferrus after he tried to convert his brother to the cause of Horus' rebellion. During the fight, Ferrus shattered Fireblade with his metallic hands. [1b] However the Primarch rebuilt Fireblade and used it to battle Fulgrim during their final battle on Isstvan V, who in turn wielded Forgebreaker. After the duel and Ferrus's subsequent decapitation, Fulgrim would temporarily discard the blade before succumbing to the Daemon within the Laer Blade.[1c] During Fulgrim's partnership with Perturabo on the Crone World Iydris, he would be seen with the blade again, most notably when attempting to kill Perturabo as part of his ascension to Daemon Prince.[3]
