Freebooterz are the Orks who have resorted to piracy to fill their battle lust. They follow notorious individuals who claim the title Kaptin. The Freebooters have a resemblance to the pirates that roamed Terra's waters in ancient history, sporting peg-legs and eye patches, with Squigs standing in for parrots on their shoulders. Freebooterz travel upon crude ships, raiding, sacking, looting, and plundering the ships and small outposts of other races.

On occasion they also hire themselves as mercenaries to other Ork or even alien employers. Freebooters tend to have a large amount of plundered weapons and technology, so they often have superior fire-power compared to average Ork mobs. They are a bit shunned by other Orks however, because the Freebooter way is considered 'un-orky' by more orthodox Warbosses. The most successful of the Freebooter bands grow to considerable size and some Freebooterz bands are able to pillage whole planets.

The most infamous Freebooter is Kaptin Deversnik, which participated in the invasion of Mordax Prime in the Scarus Sector.
