Lemartes is a particularly strong-willed figure and the High Chaplain within the Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter.
Lemartes leads in battle the Blood Angels who have fallen to the Black Rage. Though Lemartes is afflicted by the rage, he is able to maintain some control over his fury through his supreme strength of will. Lemartes' control over the rage is different from that of Mephiston in that the while Mephiston has conquered the rage, Lemartes uses it.
Lemartes' authority is matched only by that of Commander Dante; such is the respect he commands among his brothers, he is able to, with a word, restrain the blood frenzied nature of those suffering the Black Rage. In combat, he wears a skull-visaged death mask.
