Hamath Kraatos is the Vigilator-Sergeant of the Minotaurs 9th Devastator company, serving as the second-in-command.[1]

Biography

Kraatos' rise through the ranks has been unwarrantedly rapid by the standards of many Chapters. He is phenomenally proficient with ballistic weapons as well as a ruthless and calculating leader - with a murderous temper.[1]

Given command of a demi-company, Kraatos distinguished himself in the early stages of the Orphean War by defending a fuelling station at Attedum. Here, he used the human workers and servitors as bait to draw out the enemy, eldar corsairs driven from their lairs by the necron advance, corralling them in the central refinery before cutting them down in a series of crossfires and enfilades. Three hours later over two hundred Kabalites lay dead, with unexpectedly low civilian casualties of only six in ten.[1]

Equipment

Kraatos carries a Signum and a Heavy Bolter. In addition to standard ammunition, he carries a limited supply of artificer-engineered Assassin Bolts, hypersonic rounds that replace the standard propellant with short-burn magna-fusion charges and the mass-reactive warhead (which would not endure the fusion discharge) with solid slugs. Due to their extreme speed and density, they are both highly destructive and extremely accurate.[1]
