Orion has served under Captain Gabriel Angelos since the aftermath of the Tartarus campaign. As a former protégé of the late Isador Akios, who was corrupted by Chaos on Tartarus, Orion was subject to suspicion, but the support of Captain Angelos and Chapter Master Kyras soon put those doubts to rest.
During the Aurelian Crusade, he was one of the psykers tasked with battling the Tyranid Hive Mind as Angelos was en route to Aurelia. Jonah was the sole survivor of the dozen Librarians, Navigators, and Astropaths that accompanied Angelos, and still bears the scars of his ordeals in the Warp. His psychic abilities have allowed the Blood Ravens to root out several leftover pockets of Tyranid infestation over the last year.
During the Third Aurelian Crusade, Orion was thought to have been killed while battling the forces of Chaos, on Cyrene, to allow Captain Angelos to confront their corrupted Chapter Master Azariah Kyras. However after Kyras was killed[3a], Orion was found alive, but his injuries from the battle left him in a Sus-an Membrane trance[3b]. When Orion recovered his strength, Angelos, who was now the Blood Ravens' new Chapter Master, promoted him to Chief Librarian; in recognition of the numerous sacrifices and victories Orion had given to his Battle Brothers. In his new role Orion now desires to redefine the psyker culture within the Blood Ravens, so that heresy can not breed again within the Chapter, and he has made it his main duty to ensure none of his Chapter stray, as Kyras did.[3a]
If the player chooses the Path of Chaos, Orion can be equipped with Forbidden Tomes that grant him dark, sorcerous powers such as The Chains of Torment. He can also equip the Book of Lorgar which greatly increases his abilities but corrupts him significantly.
