Lieutenant Kage of the Last Chancers was born on a Olypas Hive World and joined the Imperial Guard at a young age. He had made a bet with his Sergeant, and whoever won would get the girl whom both Kage and his sergeant had fallen in love with. Kage won the bet, and his Sergeant, being a sore loser, threatened to get Kage arrested for insubordinance. Kage then sliced his sergeant's throat.

He was sent to a prison-world, where he attempted to escape and met Colonel Schaeffer face to face, and thus was recruited into the Last Chancers. He served in the Last Chancers for 5 years total, once being given freedom, though he was soon recruited back into the Last Chancers after he killed three highly-ranked officers. During the assassination of a Tau leader, Brightsword, an Inquisitor by the name of Oriel found that Kage was a psyker. Later, Kage was possessed by a daemon (probably of Khorne as Kage had a severe bloodlust) and thus took control of his body for a long time. He managed to regain control of his body temporarily, and died on Armageddon, but also took Von Strab down with him, plummeting down into a lava-filled valley.
