The krak missile is the armour piercing variant of the missile. The warhead is a hard-alloy penetrating device which is able to bore through the hardest armour plates. On other variants, the "penetrator" is replaced by an high explosive "hollow charge".

The man-portable disposable krak missile launcher used in the Tanith 1st regiment is commonly referred to as the "Tread Fether" by the common soldiers of the regiment; where "tread" indicated a tracked vehicle, normally a tank, and feth is a Tanith obscenity believed to be derived from an ancient forest deity of Tanith.
