The Laser Destroyer is the primary armament of the Imperial Destroyer Tank Hunter. Not to be confused with the Rapier Laser Destroyer, a now almost forgotten piece of Imperial ordnance. The Rapier was a small tracked self propelled, quad barreled Laser weapon. Crewed by a single operator, it had more armor penetrating power and significantly longer range than a Lascannon. Perhaps due to it great expense, and delicate barrel alignment components, it fell of of Imperial favor and use.

It is a extremely powerful and long range laser weapon that is especially difficult to make, it is a job that requires hand-crafting and extreme precision. it specializes in burning through vehicle amour.

The gun is more precious than the tank that houses it, therefore, if a unit is unfortunate to suffer the loss of a Destroyer vehicle they will take every effort to try and salvage the weapon and leave the vehicle. but if this is not possible: the vehicle is restored to its previous state and a new weapon is requested.

The time and accuracy needed to remake the weapon usually means that the loss of one means that the unit is not likely to receive another one in its lifetime.
