This page is to list everything that we need to decide upon as we update the Space Marine pages. It will be split into three section: design, structure and content. It will then be divided into subsections. Please leave all remarks in the relevant division, not at the end in its own section! This is just a few of the options I could think of, feel free to add more!

Structure

Types

• The 18 Legions different to the Chapters/the same?

The real question is: how are the 9 loyalist founding chapters(LFC from now on) different from the other loyalist chapters?
My answer:

1. They have a primarch
2. They have a pre-HH history, often strongly tied to their primarch's one
3. They have successor chapters (btw, I can't think of any successor chapter of a successor chapter, maybe the Black Templars founded some?)
4. They often lay down the non-codex astartes structure then followed by their successor chapters (every blood angels successor has a death company, every dark angel successor has a deathwing and a ravenwing company,[...])

Honestly, I'd like to have SEPARATE articles for each one of these, as usually the LFC have VERY long pages, possibly by putting them in a "LFC and successors" (not using the LFC acronym but a category for each chapter+following)

Army Lists/Units

• Within the main article/Separate articles for each unit?

Are we talking of chapter pages or the space marines page? For chapters, a brief introduction (eventually with links to single troopers) then a link to the squad with the Main template. For the Space Marines page, a brief introduction to the fact that space marines field versatile armies blah blah, then link to a Space Marine Army List a la Dark Eldar--Madness 14:16, 22 May 2008 (CEST)

• Articles for the model rather than the squad (Marine rather than Tactical Squad)/squad rather than model?

REALLY short articles about squad, like their tactical role and composition, maybe some background history of famous squads of that kind, the composition should be a VERY relevant part (maybe even in the article introduction) with links to the model, in the model page we can digress upon the equipment and specific tactical role, with links back to the squad the model can fit into.--Madness 14:16, 22 May 2008 (CEST)
