Below is a list of all the Imperial space ships currently used in space. They are used by the Imperial Navy and Space Marine Chapter Fleets, mainly to engage in space battles with enemy fleets, to transport forces around the galaxy and to bombard enemy planetary forces on the ground.

Imperial Navy Ships
The Imperial Navy is charged with supporting Imperial Guard formations on the ground but it has an entirely different command structure to the Guard after the lessons learned in the Horus Heresy.
Battleships
Battleships are slow compared to other ships but have powerful arnaments and better armour.
Emperor Class Battleship
The Emperor Class battleship is one of the oldest battleships still in service in the Imperium. It is very slow compared to other vessels and is less armoured than other battleships. This is somewhat made up for by the many sensor probes on the prow. It has fairly strong weapons batteries on it's broadsides, and only slightly less powerful batteries on the front and the top which can rotate to face most sides. It can also launch several squadrons of fighters and bombers but it cannot launch as much as more specialised attack craft carriers. Its shields are normal for a battleship and its turret defenses (against bombers) are slightly better than the Retribution Class Battleship.
Retribution Class Battleship
Like the Emperor Class, the Retribution class is very slow but it has better armour on the front than its cousin. Its speed, shields, and defence turrets are all normal for a battleship and its broadsides are entirely taken up with a massive amount of weapons batteries. It has a few dorsal lance turrets as well which are good for combatting enemy ships that are out of range of its devastating broadsides. It can also launch several torpedoes from the front. It has a slightly faster speed than is normal for a battleship.
Apocalypse Class Battleship
An Apocalypse Class Battleship has the common armour, turrets and shields and is also the normal speed for a battleship. The only main difference is that it has lance batteries on the sides which are fairly strong and weapons batteries on the top of the same strength. Also, on the prow it has a Nova Cannon which can cause devastation to many kilometres of space. It is one of the most feared Imperial Ships because of this. It can also take energy directly from the engines to charge up it's lances.
Oberon Class Battleship
This battleship has sensor probes on it's prow instead of extra armour just like the Emperor Battleship. Also similar to the Emperor Battleship, it can launch squadrons of attack craft but not as many as its counterpart. This is made up for by extra lances on its sides as well as the weapons batteries on the sides, top and prow.
